technology channel. I asked how they were doing with new customer generation.<\/p><p>His answer was direct: \u201cNot good. It\u2019s a constant frustration. My sales team are more farmers than hunters. I don\u2019t know how to get them to go after new clients. They don\u2019t want to pick up the phone. They think WhatsApp is enough.\u201d<\/p><p>Then he added: \u201cI end up being the one finding prospects and passing them to the team.\u201d<\/p><p>That doesn\u2019t scale. He knows it. But he doesn\u2019t know how to fix it.<\/p><p>If you\u2019re a CEO, CRO, or leading a tech channel, this probably sounds familiar. It may even be your story.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\">Let\u2019s be honest about the difference<\/span><\/p><p>A farmer builds relationships, grows accounts, and creates long-term trust. Valuable. Critical. But not a hunter.<\/p><p>A hunter is always in search mode. Constantly looking, handling rejection, pushing for results. They don\u2019t need everything to be perfect\u2014they operate well in uncertainty.<\/p><p>The problem? Most companies have teams full of farmers\u2026 and expect them to hunt.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\">Why hunting fails in many channels<br \/><\/span><\/p><p>I keep seeing three main reasons:<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\"> 1. The technical seller <\/span>They come from engineering backgrounds. Structured, detail-oriented, they want clarity before acting. Hunting is the opposite: uncertain, messy, unpredictable. Prospecting feels uncomfortable from day one.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\"> 2. The seller without method or experience <\/span> It\u2019s not that they don\u2019t want to do it \u2014 no one taught them how. Without structure, prospecting becomes random, results don\u2019t come, and they give up quickly.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\"> 3. The brain avoids what doesn\u2019t work <\/span>This is the most ignored point. Around 95% of prospecting doesn\u2019t generate a lead. The brain knows it, so it avoids it. This is not laziness \u2014 it\u2019s biology.<\/p><p>f you don\u2019t have a clear method to process rejection as part of the job, sellers will always prioritize something else.<\/p><p>Here\u2019s the good news: with the right methodology, this changes. When you know who to call, what to say, and why it matters, prospecting stops feeling like guessing and starts feeling like a system.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\">So, what should you do?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\">A) Separate profiles <\/span> Don\u2019t expect a farmer to become a hunter overnight. Some can adapt with the right skills and mindset. Others will struggle and get frustrated \u2014 and that frustration spreads.<\/p><p>Be honest about who is who, and build your strategy around real strengths.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\">B) Train real prospecting skills <\/span>Hunting is not usually a natural talent. It\u2019s a skill you can learn \u2014 if it\u2019s taught properly.<\/p><p>In our sales bootcamps, something interesting happens. Sellers arrive tense and frustrated. Then at some point, you see relief.<\/p><p>They realize there is a clear method. That rejection is not failure \u2014 it\u2019s part of the process.<\/p><p>And when we add AI to analyze prospects (what they do, their challenges, what matters to them), everything changes. It becomes a real advantage \u2014 one that very few channels are using today.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0b4068; font-weight: bold;\">En resumen:<\/span><\/p><p>If your team is not consistently generating new customers, the issue is probably not motivation. It\u2019s structure.<\/p><p>Sales teams don\u2019t need more pressure. They need the right method, the right profiles in the right roles, and modern tools to execute.<\/p><p>This can be built.
